Two Ann Arbor Kenshi joined over 100 other Kenshi from
the U.S., Canada, and Japan at the first West Coast Training Camp in
Seattle, April 20-22, 2007, hosted by the Seattle Branch. Many thanks to
Seattle Branch Master Onaka Sensei and all of the
Seattle Kenshi for the hard work they put into
organizing a great training camp.
The Training Camp coincided with the Seattle Cherry Blossom and Japanese Cultural Festival and included a public demonstration of Shorinji Kempo.
WSKO instructor Nagata Sensei, 8th dan (shown here doing tannen embu during the public demonstration) came from Japan to teach at the Training Camp. We were very impressed with his speed and skill. His instruction on appo (pressure point techniques) was particularly interesting.
